In Upper Egypt and more specifically in Luxor, one will get to experience the ancient Egyptian civilization. The Luxor museum overlooks the west bank of the River Nile. It is one of the best display centers of Egyptian antiques. Even though the museum is quite small, this was done on purpose to focus on the quality it hosts. While at Luxor, exploring the Karnak Temple is essential. It is one of the largest temples in Egypt and it dates back to 1400 B.C. The temple is so big that it encloses three different temples. The Valley of the Kings is the burial place of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom and it is definitely a place to visit.
One cannot go to Egypt without visiting its capital city, Cairo. Probably, the most obvious tourist attraction in Cairo is the Pyramids of Giza. In Cairo, one can also visit the hanging church. The hanging church got its name from its location; thus the church is above the gatehouse of the Roman Fort. Another place to visit in Cairo is the citadel of Cairo (built by Saladin in 1176). Or one
can simply walk the road of old Cairo to experience how Cairo was in the olden days.
